Senior School Exam Notes

Notes for Students - January 2012  Exam Schedule

1. Attached is your January Exam Schedule.
2. Review this schedule carefully to ensure that you do not have 2 exams scheduled at the same.
3. Students who have exam conflicts should see Mrs. Derouin to resolve the conflict by Friday, January 13.
4. All morning exams begin at 8:30 sharp. Students writing a morning exam are expected to be at school for 8:15.
5. By 8:25 students must be seated in their assigned room.
6. Be sure to bring all your required supplies with you.
7. No electronic devices are permitted to be on your person or in the exam room at any time during the exam. This includes ipods, mp3 players, cell phones, translators and calculators unless approved for the exam being written. Leave these items at home or secure in your locker.
8. Each exam is 2 hours in length and you are required to stay for a minimum of 1 hour.
9. Before handing in your exam paper be sure to check it over as you will not be permitted back in the exam room.
10. Students are not permitted to leave the exam room and return (no bathroom breaks).
11. Afternoon exams begin at 12:00 sharp. Students writing an afternoon exam are expected to be at school for 11:45 and seated in their assigned room by 11:55.
12. All students are to be in proper dress code during exams.
13. Students are only required to be at school for their scheduled exams.
14. In the event of bad weather be sure to check the school website. If the school is closed the exams scheduled for that day will be written the following week. The exams scheduled for the following day will remain on the day originally scheduled.

Notes for students writing January Provincial Exams

1. Provincial exams will be written in room B141.
2. All morning provincial exams begin at 9:00, afternoon provincial exams begin at 1:00.
3. Ensure that you are present outside room B141 at least 15 minutes prior to the exam start time.
4. Each provincial exam is 2 hours in length however an additional 1 hour is available if you need it.
5. In the event of a school closure due to weather, you may attend a neighbourhood public school that is offering that provincial exam, show photo ID and have your PEN with you, ask to be registered as a walk in. In the event of weather that closes public schools as well, the Ministry of Education may schedule an alternate sitting.
