Brody McKnight (VC ‘07) is headed on a mid-spring trip on May 3 ultimately landing at the New York Jets mini-camp, where he will get a kick at making an NFL training camp this summer. The 22-year-old McKnight, a placekicker and graduate of the Vancouver College Fighting Irish high school football program, was skipped over in the NFL draft this weekend, but came to terms with the Jets Saturday as an undrafted free agent and will attend mini-camp this weekend. McKnight still hearkens back to his time with the Fighting Irish, a football staple in these parts. “I say this all the time and I’ll say it again, Vancouver College has provided me with that right path to start off my life,” he said. P Dyakowski VC Alumni, Pete Dyakowski ('02), is Canada's Smartest Person. Pete was up against three other finalists and he topped them all in the two-hour CBC show, which focused on multiple challenges to contestants' intelligence in six categories not based on IQ, ranging from math and logic to visual and spatial to linguistics to interpersonal and musical. Matt Rogers (VC '00) is currently teaching and coaching football at Reicher Catholic School in Waco, Texas. This photo was takin in September 2011 when Matt bumped into Christian Covingon (VC' 11)  in Waco when Rice was playing at Baylor University. Small world ...

Nathan Yu (VC '07) and Philip Scrubb (VC '10) were on the basketball team representing Canada with 10 other CIS athletes in the Pan America Games. Canada won their first game against Argentina (83-79) in overtime but lost to Mexico (eventual silver medalist) 65 - 79, Puerto Rico (eventual gold medalist) 58 - 80, and Brazil 56 - 74 finishing 6th overall.

Kevin Falcon (VC '81) - One of VC's alumni, Kevin Falcon ('81) is a candidate for the BC Liberal party leadership. Fellow alumnus, Hector McKay-Dunn (VC '68) and fmaily are hosting "An Evening With Kevin Falcon" on Monday, January 31, 2011 from 5:30 - 7:30 hosted by  1606 LAurier Avenue, Vancouver. Laurence Nixon (VC '05) - University of Saskatchewan Huskies quarterback Laurence Nixon finished his CIS career with his best season, tallying a Canada West-best 16 touchdowns and a 160.7 pass efficiency to win honours as Player of the Year, taking the Frank Gnup Trophy and becoming a finalist for the coveted Hec Crighton Trophy.Full article ...
