2011 Human Rights Conference

“One World, One Heart” 2011 Human Rights Conference on April 16, 2011 brings students from various high schools together to focus their minds and hearts towards human rights issues around the world. This conference will enrich lives by educating and inspiring all participants. Vancouver College and Little Flower Academy are organizing fascinating group presentations, a captivating key-note speaker, and ultimately, the chance to be among peers to work towards our main goal: to live together in one world, with one heart.

CONFERENCE DETAILS:

    Open to students in grades 8-12 from ANY school
    Date - Saturday, April 16, 2011
    Location - Little lower Academy
    Registration: In advance (download Registration Form) or at the door (12 noon)
    Conference Time: 12 noon - 7:00 pm
    Cost: $10 (pirce includes sessions, lunch, dinner, and social events)

1. Who can come to this event?

You must be in grade 8, 9, 10, 11 or 12 from any High School

2.  How do I register?

If you don't already have a form, download and print one now or if you attend VC or LFA, pick one up from Mr. Beliveau or Mrs. Martin respecively. Complete the form and bring it back to Mr. Beliveau/Mrs. Martin with $10 in Cash or Cheque (Payable to Vancouver College or LFA).

If you do not attend VC or LFA, first, print out the form from the link above and complete it. Then you have several options:

  • if your school has a OWOH Representative, find him/her and give him/her your completed registration form and money;  OR
  • Bring the form to Vancouver College (5400 Cartier St.) and drop it off at the Main Office with your payment; OR
  • Fax your form to (604) 261-2284 - write "Attention: K. Beliveau" at the top of your form and bring your money on the day of the conference;  OR
  • Scan your form and attach it to an email to vclfahumanrights@gmail.com. Bring your money on the day of the conference.

3. What if I SUDDENLY wake up on Saturday, April 16th and want to come to the conference?

No problem! You can avail of our walk-in option. Although we strongly recommend that you register beforehand, we do not want to deny anyone from attending One World, One Heart so come on the day between 11:30 to 12 noon, go directly to the Walk-in Registration Table and fill out required information. We require you to bring a valid Go Card and your Care Card Number for Emergency Reasons.
