After 90 years of educating young men in a Catholic environment with the values set forth by Blessed Edmond Rice, there is an ever growing membership who call themselves Alumni of Vancouver College. The VC Alumni Association has existed for many decades to maintain a connection between the Vancouver College community and the many thousands that have passed through this historic institution. I am pleased and honoured to be the current President of the VC Alumni Association (“VCAA”), after having been a part of the Board of Directors for the past four years.

Brody McKnight (VC ‘07) is headed on a mid-spring trip on May 3 ultimately landing at the New York Jets mini-camp, where he will get a kick at making an NFL training camp this summer. (Read Full Story) McKnight still hearkens back to his time with the Fighting Irish, a football staple in these parts. “I say this all the time and I’ll say it again, Vancouver College has provided me with that right path to start off my life,” he said.

Alumni Fishing Derby

The 6th Annual VC Alumni Fishing Derby - Finnegan and the Fish will be held on June 9, 2012 at Harmon Lake and surrounding area, just South East of Merritt. The day is open to Alumni, Parents, Family, Friends, and Faculty …all welcome! It'll be a great day of fishing, lunch, BBQ dinner, and …plenty of stories about the one that got away!!

Reunions

VC Reunions take place throughout the year but we encourage organizers/class representatives to time it around the Annual Homecoming Game (September/October). To get started, the Alumni Association/ VC's Advancement Office can supply the class representative with a list with names and contact details. Also, we have a network of alumni owned and operated establishments around the lower mainland that are great places to host the event, and usually they throw in a pretty good deal. The Class of 1962 (50th) and 1992 (20th) are getting ready for their reunions September 2012.

Annual Golf Tournament

Clean off the clubs for one last swing at the links this summer and join us for the annual VC Alumni Golf Tournament at the beautiful UBC Golf Club on Sunday, September 18. This event is open to everyone. Get your registrations in early (download sign up form).

Homecoming Game

The Annual Alumni Homecoming Game is on September 15, 2012 featuring a marquee match up with our Fighting Irish Varsity Football team taking on our cross town rival, the St. Thomas More Knights. to enjoy! Each year more than 2,000 have attended the homecoming festivities (barbeque, beer garden, and entertainment for all ages), making this one of the events you don’t want to miss!

VC Alumni Association

Wherever you are, we encourage Vancouver College graduates to stay in touch through the various events organized by the school and the Vancouver College Alumni Association. The Vancouver College Alumni Association, a regsitered society with the Society Act of BC (VCAA Bylaws), is led by a volunteer board of alumni that work to foster the social environment of the Vancouver College community. The VCAA organizes annual events such as the Homecoming Game (September), Alumni & Friends Golf Tournament (September), Alumni Hockey Game (May), Alumni Basketball Tournament (June), Fishing Derby (June), and class reunions.
