Parent Participation Program Goodwill Cheques

We strongly encourage all families to volunteer at the school.

Families unable to volunteer or who choose not to volunteer are asked to remit a cheque for $750.00 payable to "Vancouver College Blessed Edmund Rice Bursary Program" dated September 1 of the year for which they are registering. This is in lieu of the 30-hour volunteer participation commitment. 

Families who choose to volunteer submit a cheque for $750 payable to "Vancouver College Blessed Edmund Rice Bursary Program" dated June 30 of the end of the school year for which they are registered.

• When your hours of participation have been completed, the cheque will be destroyed.
• If your volunteer commitment of 30 hours is not fulfilled, the PPP coordinator calculates the number of hours served and notifies the school's accounting department who the bills the family for the equivalent dollar amount. This money is deposited into the Blessed Edmund Rice Bursary Program. 

Please note:

• Parents are encouraged and reminded to record their volunteer hours as completed (PP Login site). Every effort to contact parents is made before cheques are cashed.
• The Contact Liaison Parent reminds parents monthly if parents have not completed their 30-hour commitment.
• A final email and phone message will be made prior to cashing cheques to give parents a chance to volunteer and to remind parents that their cheque will be cashed if hours are not recorded or served.
• The VCPA Newsletter, Finnegan File, also reminds parents to update their PPP hours.
