Blessed Edmund Rice Bursary Program

Purpose

Vancouver College is committed to providing accessible Catholic-based education to all families as envisioned by our founder, Blessed Edmund Rice.  The Blessed Edmund Rice Bursary Program provides tuition assistance to those families with demonstrated need for financial assistance based on a formal bursary application and review process.

Governance

The Board of Directors approves the Bursary program and process including funding allocation on an annual basis and the financial and non-financial criteria for assessing tuition assistance and appoints the Bursary Committee. The Bursary Committee administers the Bursary Program approved by the Board and submits periodic bursary program reports to the Finance and Audit Committee.

Bursary Committee

The Bursary Committee at Vancouver College has the overall responsibility to administer the Blessed Edmund Rice Bursary Program. The Bursary Committee is comprised of three members: the Principal (Chair), Business Manager and the Registrar. The Bursary Committee meets periodically to review all the applications, assesses the family’s needs against the financial and non-financial criteria, decides whether tuition assistance will be granted and approves the award amount.
