By Daniel and Colm in Mr. Treschow's class

As a faith and learning community we begin our day,

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

God, we thank You for the gift of our lives and for this day:

Today is the feast day of Saint Nicholas, who is the patron saint of sailors, merchants, repentant thieves, prostitutes, children, unmarried people, and students. He was known for his piousness and generosity. His practice of secretly giving gifts to others inspired the famous Santa Claus of Christmas. We ask God to help us be as generous and unselfish as Saint Nicolas was and help us remember the importance of giving as we approach the holiday season.

We would also like to pray for the homeless, as they may find shelter and warmth in the coming winter.

As well, we would like to pray for those who are sick with the new variant of COVID-19 and other illnesses, that they may recover and heal quickly.

Be present with us as we strive to live our lives guided by gospel values; by the way Jesus would want us to treat one another as we "stand in solidarity with those marginalized by poverty and injustice".

We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Blessed Edmund Rice….. Pray for Us.

Live Jesus in our Hearts.…Forever.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
