This two-week camp is a great introduction to being at school for the whole day for children entering Kindergarten in September 2021. Campers will enjoy a fun-filled day that includes early literacy activities, math skills, art activities, science topics, and physical activity!

March 31, 2021 Registration Update - We are so thankful for your support for Finnegan Summer 2021! Due to the overwhelming response to our camps, we have made the decision to close registration for this camp as we work to address our lengthy waitlist. If you are currently on our waitlist, you will be hearing from us in the coming weeks regarding the possibility of enrolling in any alternative camps, including second sessions, for your child. We will share an announcement on our Finnegan Summer webpage should we be able to re-open registration to children not currently on our waitlists.

Come explore with us this summer! Throughout this week-long camp, we will develop our creative and critical thinking skills by participating in STEAM activities that incorporate Science, Art, Social Studies, and Language Arts. Through a variety of indoor and outdoor activities and games, we will also develop our decision-making skills, make new friends, and have a lot of fun!

Literacy, Numeracy, and Sport [Regpack number #003]

Students who join us for this week-long camp will spend their mornings creating literacy and numeracy projects using digital tools, as well as working on other stimulating art, writing, and academic pursuits. Afternoons will be spent on physical fitness on O’Hagan Field, in the gym, and on the playground through the introduction of a variety of new sports and activities. Spend the week having fun while developing sports skills and practicing teamwork!

This camp is designed to make the transition to Middle School as smooth as possible for new, incoming Grade 7 and 8 Vancouver College students. Students will be given a “Head Start” to the school year, as they are introduced to some of the topics covered in English and Math, and well as the Vancouver College Middle School binder system, used by all Grade 7 - 9 boys at Vancouver College.
Campers will become familiar not only with their future classrooms and facilities in Manrell Hall and the rest of the Vancouver College Campus, but also with some of their new teachers and classmates!

High-Performance Training Camp [Regpack number #006]
Age: Grade 9 + (co-ed)
Dates: Monday, July 5 - Friday, July 30 (Monday/Wednesday/Friday - 12 sessions)
Time: 9 am - 12 pm
Cost: $325
This camp is aimed at the high school athlete who is looking to develop the functional skills necessary for high-level athletic performance. Athletes will benefit from this four-week training program where they will receive instruction on how to perform proper sprint and agility mechanics, power development, plyometric exercises, and strength training including Olympic lifting techniques.
During nutritional break periods, athletes will review video analysis of their performance and will receive instruction on proper nutritional practices, recovery and regeneration techniques, injury prevention and management, flexibility protocols, and postural and core strengthening.
At the end of the camp, all athletes will receive a program that they will be able to follow for the remainder of the summer. From this camp, athletes will develop an understanding of the commitment, dedication, and desire that translates not only into increased performance but to life outside athletics as well!
Please note the following:
- Students unable to commit to the full four weeks must obtain prior approval from Coach Vass (svass@mail.vc.bc.ca) before registering.
- Depending on COVID-19 restrictions, the time of this camp may be altered to allow for staggered session start times and greater separation between athletes.

One of our most popular and longest-running camps! Participants will receive individualized instruction in the development of football fundamentals with particular emphasis on throwing, catching, blocking, and stance. This is a non-contact camp requiring no equipment and is an excellent base for those wishing to go on to play high school football. Irish Varsity players will assist at the camp, ensuring a lower camper to instructor ratio.
This camp is strongly recommended for any incoming Grade 8 student wishing to play for VC in September.

This week-long, full-day camp will give students the opportunity to produce experiments, helping develop analytical thinking, creativity, and deepen their understanding of scientific concepts. While creating a fun environment to explore their ideas, Exploring Science in our Everyday Lives aims to show students how they can use normal items to create complex and interesting experiments, which they can replicate in the future!

Finnegan Publishing House - Online! [Regpack number #014]

Vancouver College Finnegan Publishing House is an online Finnegan Summer experience for Middle School students. Over this two-week camp, students will read and review inspirational short stories, learn powerful writing techniques, write their own short stories, and collaborate with other campers to edit and ultimately publish their own work!
Campers will have the opportunity to order a hard copy of their work, printed and bound from this experience. During the registration process, parents will have the option to pre-pay for this keepsake.

Introduction to Lacrosse [Regpack number #012]
Age: Grade 7 - 8 (co-ed)

This camp is a fun introduction to the game of lacrosse for Grade 7 - 8 players, and is especially recommended for those who wish to join the Vancouver College Lacrosse program in September 2021!
Students will learn basic skills such as passing, catching, and shooting from coaches and in an environment that has helped develop talented lacrosse players like Aiden Ellis (VC ‘17), drafted by the Langley Thunder in 2021, and Sam Claire (VC ‘11) who currently plays for the National Lacrosse League’s Vancouver Warriors.
Participants are encouraged to use their own gear, but clean, sanitized equipment will be provided if necessary.
